This is a great place to eat. Very few restaurants achieve the perfect balance, but this one does. Its at the Marina in Batemans Bay, and the dress is casual, with amazing views of the river, mountains and the ocean. They are open 8am to 9pm most days, (only until 3pm on Mondays) for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with coffee, cakes and ice cream available between main meals. The food would not be out of place in a five star restaurant. There were 4 in our party, and we all had amazing dishes. The prawns were sweet and the Whitebait dish was the best Ive had in Australia. The Squid Salad was fresh and tasty, and the Ribeye steaks, one ordered well done with veges, and one medium rare with chips, came out exactly as ordered. The well done steak was moist and tender, the medium rare, pink through, no blood. The staff were smiling and friendly, yet still very professional and attentive. The place was clean and the tables were large and spaced well apart, with a choice to dine inside or outside. The biggest surprise was at the end of the night, when the bill came in at around $50 a head. This included a shared entree, mains and a shared dessert, beers for the blokes and wine for the gals. I highly recommend the establishment as the place to go for a great night out.
Beautiful place to eat, fantastic food and really friendly helpful staff. We had a wide range of food and desserts, even a vegetarian option, all of it was super tasty. The wide range of cocktails was incredible. The staff were attentive and so polite, would definitely recommend this place!
We walked in and the guy at the door said they don't have space even though the place was basically empty but he after a while of looking though bookings said he only has one table open, while we were there the place stayed basically empty which I found strange.The atmosphere however was outstanding and you have a look out of a beautiful view. The food was average but a bit too greasy.
Fantastic location, over looking the Bay. It's beautiful and romantic with a high ceiling and seating which is almost open allowing for fresh air. It's refreshing!!We arrived here almost at a time when lunch orders were being stopped. However the host was gracious and kept his kitchen open just a little bit longer.And boy, I'm glad he did. Although this place is well known for their seafood, we were craving for steak. We ordered the eye fillet steak with sweet potato mash and beer battered chips. Loved it thoroughly. We devoured our steaks in a matter of minutes. The flavors were amazing and the steaks were cooked to perfection (rare and medium rare respectively). Thanks JJ's that was one of the best meals we've had during our trip.
Beautiful indoor + great food + friendly staff.The bowl or prawns was absolutely delicious, you could feel the seafood was indeed very fresh. Mains are lovely, make sure to check their specials on the boards. If you plan to go in the evening and the weather is chilly, make sure to wear a bit warmer clothes as they might keep the terrace door open but they also have blankets. In general, highly recommended, also for a great walk after dinner.
